Fourth generation shoemakers

The first generation of Stultiens shoemakers dates back to 1859. Sjang Stultiens started with a shoe repair shop on Verlengde Beekstraat and later on Nazerethsteeg. Around 1930, his son Frans had a shoe repair shop on Suffolkweg and later on the riverbank, where he also opened a shoe shop in addition to the shoe repair shop. Jan, Frans' son, born in 1934, continued the tradition and also had a shoe repair shop with a shoe store on Verlengde Beekstraat.

Founder Federico, the fourth generation, started in 1986 in his parents' garage. He was 17 years old at the time and the youngest entrepreneur in the industry. Two years later, he moved to the shopping center on Limburg Laan, and ten years after that, he opened a shop on Beekstraat. His passion for the trade was evident from a young age, as by the age of twelve, he was a regular visitor to the cobbler's shop with his father. This year (2025), they celebrate the 39th anniversary of their business.

Federico

Federico loves his work and enjoys challenges. Repairs don't always have to be easy. He likes using special techniques and was the first in the Netherlands to become a certified Premium and Authorized Climbing Cobbler for Vibram. Since May 2023, he has also been an Authorized La Sportiva repairer, number 44 in Europe. And since July 2024, Scarpa has also authorized him. Quality and craftsmanship are of paramount importance to Federico; he only works with high-quality products.
